SENATOR FUSCHILLO HONORED FOR HIS WORK ON BEHALF OF RETURNING COMBAT VETERANS
State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) was recently honored by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for his efforts to help veterans returning from overseas combat.
Senator Fuschillo helped secure funding for a training program administered by NASW to improve care for combat veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. The Veterans Mental Health Training Initiative better prepares social workers, psychiatrists, and other professionals to identify and treat the issues these veterans face and ease their transition back to civilian life.
