SENATOR FUSCHILLO READS TO KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS DURING CHATTERTON SCHOOL’S COMMUNITY READING DAY

New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently visited students in Ms. Learned’s kindergarten class at Chatterton Elementary School in Merrick as part of the school’s annual “Community Reading Day.”

Senator Fuschillo read “House Mouse, Senate Mouse” by Peter and Cheryl Barnes to the students. The story allowed the children to learn in a fun way what Senator Fuschillo’s job is and how laws are made.

The students also told Senator Fuschillo some of their ideas for new laws.

“This program is a great way for adults to get students excited about reading by showing them how much fun it can be. I really enjoyed participating in this program and watching how much the students enjoyed the story,” said Senator Fuschillo.
