Skelos Honors Oceanside Boy Scout for His Historic Achievement

New York State Senator Dean G. Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) today honored Shawn Goldsmith with a New York State Senate Liberty Medal, which is one of the highest civilian awards a New York resident can receive, for his outstanding achievement of earning all 121 Merit Badges offered by the Boy Scouts. Senator Skelos, in addition, presented Shawn with a New York State Senate Proclamation for his exemplary efforts.

"Shawn is a very impressive young man with extraordinary drive and determination to accomplish his goals," said Senator Skelos. "During the 100 years of the Boy Scouts only a special few have accomplished this feat, and Shawn is now forever among those historic Boy Scouts."
