Eric Adams

NYS Senator Eric Adams (D, Brooklyn) joins other NYS Legislators at a press conference at the location where a US Air jet landed in the Hudson River.  The NYS Senators will announce the introduction of a Senate Resolution that will recognize the valiant actions of the plane crew, ferry workers, and emergency first responders.  Senator Adams is a retired NYC Police Captain and now serves in the NY State Senate as the Chair of the Homeland Security committee.

Senator Adams states: “The pilot on US Airways Flight 1549, Chesley Sullenberger, faced a terrifying situation: he was forced to bring his jet down into the Hudson River.  His consummate skill turned a potential catastrophe into a miraculous triumph, saving the life of every passenger aboard his plane.  He is a true hero.  The commuter ferries, coast guard boats, and police craft that converged on the scene to pull the aircraft’s passengers out of the Hudson after the plane had crashed must also be honored for the prompt response that completed the rescue.”
