Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz Stresses Transparency in Government at Bronx Breakfast

This morning, New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx), Assemblyman Marcos Crespo (D-Bronx) and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. welcomed Executive Directors, Chief Executive Officers and Chief Financial Officers from twenty-two not-for-profit organizations to announce the Senator’s discretionary fund allocations for 2009.  Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (D-Bronx), Chair of the Assembly Aging Committee also attended the event.

Stressing the need for transparency in government, Senator Rev. Diaz announced the allocated amounts for each group, and detailed the services that each group provides to the community. (See list below)

During this momentous occasion, Senator Rev. Diaz stated, “These groups serve the heart of our community.  It is a special year for me as a democrat, because now that we are in the majority, we have more resources to serve our districts.”

Senator Rev. Diaz encouraged all leaders who attended the breakfast to network with each other so that they can work together for the further betterment of the community.
