9/21/2009: Senator Huntley addresses 113th Precinct Community Council Meeting
Senator Shirley L. Huntley (D-Jamaica) was clearly at home as she spoke in an open forum at the invitation of the community and 113th precinct located at 167-02 Baisley Boulevard. During the meeting she briefly explained her role in the New York State Senate and discussed several initiatives she has been working on. Some of the following intiatives are increasing the number of adult homes for the mentally and physically disabled and launching a "Wednesday Night Speak" where she speaks to community members about their concerns. One of the main concerns include the 'Stop and Frisk' process usually directed toward African American males and the sanitary conditions at a local Rochdale Village supermarket.
