Kids’ Port @ the Library
Senator Vincent Leibell Introduces Kids’ Port @ the Kent Public Library

Senator Vincent Leibell will be at the Kent Public Library on Wednesday, September 30th at 4:15pm to help introduce a new library Website for kids. Kids’ Port, brought to the community through legislative funding provided by the senator, is a fun and educational resource for children pre-school to age 10. It provides games, activities, reading links, community involvement information and great sites for parents in the Hudson Valley Region. Mid-Hudson Library System is the administrator for Kids’ Port and is proud to be part of this online resource that brings kids and parents together with educational and fun Web links and their local libraries.

“I am always pleased to partner with the Mid-Hudson Library System on their special projects,” said Senator Vincent Leibell, “Their efforts to establish a web site where pre-school children to the age of ten can experience games, activities, reading links and much more, while guaranteeing Internet safety is something I am very thankful for and happy to help support.”

kidsport.midhudson.org connects kids in the Mid-Hudson region to safe, educational and exciting web resources.

kidsport.midhudson.org opens portals to help kids make a difference in their communities, find homework help and have fun.

kidsport.midhudson.org provides links in English and Spanish for parents to find resources on how to keep their kids healthy, safe and involved in learning.

Connecting our children with quality information on the Internet while keeping them safe is a concern we all share. Public libraries are uniquely positioned to help parents teach their children about safe and responsible use of the Internet while linking families to quality educational and entertaining web sites and electronic resources available through their public library.

~ Since 1959, the Mid-Hudson Library System has acted to insure the public's right to free access, facilitate economical resource sharing, and promote professional library services while working in partnerships with the independent public and free association libraries in the designated service region. ~
