Dear Pastor Jones:

This letter is to express my support for your statement today that your church will “not today, not ever” burn a Koran.

Holy Books and places of worship deserve to be respected.  The Holy Books of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths – The Holy Bible, The Torah and The Koran – offer sacred teachings to people of faith throughout the world.

Although there are strong differences among these three religions, each of the three Holy Books teach the need to respect and love one another; and the Holy Bible, The Torah and The Koran agree on some of the “hot button” issues that affect the moral fabric of our society.

The Holy Bible, The Torah and The Koran teach the faithful that marriage is between a man and a woman.  The Holy Bible, The Torah and The Koran condemn marriage between a man and a man, and a woman and a woman.

The Holy Bible, The Torah and The Koran teach the faithful that all human life is sacred.  The Holy Bible, The Torah and The Koran oppose abortion and the destruction of innocent human life.

The Holy Bible, The Torah and The Koran teach the faithful to fulfill the divine plan for marriage and for procreation to carry on.

I will pray that as you continue on your faith journey, you will build and unite people of faith, denounce violence, and promote a healthy respect for all human life.

Respectfully,

Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz
