Senator Farley Names Bonnie Daggett a Senate Woman of Distinction

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) had the pleasure of naming life-long Schenectady County resident Bonnie Daggett as a New York State Senate Woman of Distinction at a ceremony in Albany on May 24th.

“Ms. Daggett has worked tirelessly for more than 30 years on behalf of people with disabilities,” Senator Farley said. “I admire her dedication and selflessness. I was truly honored and proud to bestow the award of Woman of Distinction to Ms. Daggett.”

She was recognized in a special reception Tuesday night in the Well of the Legislative Office Building in Albany. The program honors distinguished women whose outstanding work in their communities makes them deserving of special recognition by the State Senate.

Ms. Daggett graduated from Linton High School, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Albany, and earned her Master’s Degree in Technical Communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She has dedicated most of her time and energy to helping individuals with disabilities at Wildwood programs.

In addition to volunteering in her daughter Audrey’s classroom, she has served as a member of the Foundation Board for many years, and was a member of the Cabinet of the recent Campaign for Wildwood. She was instrumental in creating the Wildwood Pet Therapy program, and co-authored and published “The Best They Can Be - The Wildwood Story.” She and her husband are recipients of Wildwood’s Partners in Excellence Award, Outstanding Corporate Partner Award, and the Phebe and Hobart Conover Award for Philanthropy.

Ms. Daggett also gives of her time as a volunteer with Proctors Guild, the Niskayuna Community Foundation, the League of the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra, the Albany-Tula Alliance, the Sunnyview Hospital Auxiliary and the Friends of the Schenectady Museum.
