President Obama's determined to get a gun-control law in place early in his second term

President Obama called the Newtown school massacre “the worst day” of his presidency as he reiterated Sunday his determination to sign a gun-control bill into law early in his second term.

“I’d like to get it done in the first year,” Obama said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” after being asked about the need for new laws following the killings of 20 children and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School. “This is not something I will be putting off.”
