NYC Parks Cuts Ribbon On New Robert L. Clinkscales Playground & Community Garden

On Monday, September 29th, Senator Bill Perkins was proud to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and attendant celebration of the new Robert L. Clinkscales Playground and Community Garden on West 146th Street in Harlem.
This universally accessible park—born of reclaimed land that once stood dormant—is the perfect tribute to the inspiring legacy of Robert L. Clinkscales, a beloved and tireless community activist in Harlem who launched an initiative to “take back” Jackie Robinson Park for the whole community in the 1990’s and called together the very first meetings and laid out a comprehensive community vision for the park that now bears his name.
