Officials Announce $6,000 Reward For Info On LeFrak City Shooting

Following the fatal shooting of a pregnant mother and her child at LeFrak City on Wednesday, community leaders have galvanized to spur investigations into the killer.

Brandee Anastasia Massey, a 27-year-old who leaves a husband and four young children behind her, was shot in the chest and arm outside of her home at LeFrak City according to police.

Massey was about six months pregnant when she was killed. Her child was delivered at Elmhurst Hospital, but did not survive.

State Sen. Jose Peralta (D-East Elmhurst) joined district leaders, LeFrak City Tenants’ League coordinator Jim Galloway and local clergy Friday morning to announce that he is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Massey’s killer.

The LeFrak City Organization will match the senator’s donation, while police are also offering $2,000, bringing the total reward to $6,000.
