Legislature's Joint Budget Conference Committee process gets underway today ~ Senator O'Mara named to Transportation, Economic Development conference committees
Now that both houses of the State Legislature -- the Senate, and the Assembly -- have approved their respective one-house budget resolutions, the stage has been set for final negotiations with Governor Andrew Cuomo on enacting the final 2014-15 state budget by the start of New York’s next fiscal year on April 1.
The final stages of this year's budget adoption process get underway in earnest today with the convening of the Legislature's joint budget conference committeess.
The Legislature convenes 10 public conference committees to settle legislative differences on this year’s budget and reach agreements with the governor on a final budget.
The General Budget Conference Committee meets today at 12:30 p.m., followed throughout the afternoon by the remainder of this year's committees. See today's schedule HERE.
Senator O’Mara has been appointed to the Transportation Budget Conference Committee (which meets today at 2:00 p.m.), and as an alternate on the Economic Development Budget Conference Committee (which meets today at 2:30 p.m.).
