Ortt Partners With Local Agencies to Demonstrate the Dangers of Smartphone Distracted Driving

Robert G. Ortt

AT&T research shows that 7 in 10 people engage in Smartphone activities while driving. To drive home the message, “It Can (All) Wait,” AT&T teamed up with New York Senator Robert Ortt, AAA Western and Central New York, New York State Parks, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Niagara Falls Police Chief Bryan DalPorto, the New York State Police and the New York State Parks Police to bring the AT&T nationally-touring 3D virtual reality simulator to Upper Terrapin Point with the mighty cataract serving as a backdrop. This great, free opportunity allowed the public to experience firsthand how dangerous it is to take their eyes off the road and glance at a phone even for just two seconds.
