LIRR boss who ran agency during terrible performance review is stepping down
The Long Island Rail Road chief who oversaw its worst performance is stepping aside.
Patrick Nowakowski is resigning on Friday, after four years on the job he was appointed to in April 2014.
The LIRR had its worst performance in 18 years in 2017, with nearly 21,400 late trains, according to a report from State Controller Tom DiNapoli.
