Kaminsky Recognizes Island Park Little League Player on Trophy Day

Trophies were caught and balls were hit at that Island Park Little League’s 2018 Trophy Day ceremony.

On a bright June 16 afternoon, more than 200 children comprising the 19 baseball and softball teams of the league showed up at Shell Creek Park where they were recognized for their sportsmanship and participation in America’s Pastime. The day, joined in on by family and friends, also consisted of an inflatable obstacle course, lunch, a raffle to win new bicycles and a coach-parent softball game.....

...... And at Trophy Day, every kid gets a trophy; but one little slugger in particular, Charlie Kelleher, received a citation from Senator Todd Kaminsky. The 13-year-old was the only player to hit a homerun over the fence at Shell Creek Park.
