Medline no longer seeks $17.6M in tax breaks for warehouse

Skoufis Stands with Montgomery Residents
TOWN OF MONTGOMERY – Medline Industries Inc. announced Monday that it’s withdrawing its application for $17.6 million in property tax breaks to build a new warehouse in the Town of Montgomery.
A top executive with Medline, America’s largest private maker and distributor of medical supplies, said in a statement the Northfield, Ill.-based company is still seeking to build the largest warehouse in Orange County history.
But, facing stiff opposition led by state Sen. James Skoufis (D-Cornwall), Medline is withdrawing its application for a 15-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement to build a 1.3 million-square-foot warehouse along Route 416.
