A New York lawmaker has introduced a bill banning live ammunition from movie sets after a fatal shooting during production of a new Alec Baldwin film.
New York State Senator Kevin Thomas (D-Nassau County) proposed S.7477 on Wednesday; the act would amend the penal law to prohibit the possession and use of live ammunition at a film production facility or a qualified film production facility. It would also require all staff at a film production facility or a qualified film production facility to receive proper training on the safe use, handling, storage and transportation of firearms.
