Senator James Skoufis (D-Cornwall) was proud to gather with Town of Crawford Supervisor Charles Carnes, Deputy Supervisor Mike Menendez, and other leaders to award two grants, equalling $100,000, for worthy town projects. A grant of $50,000 was for the construction of a new and improved Veterans memorial. The new memorial replaces the previous structure, which had begun to crumble and deteriorate. It was expanded and replaced with taller walls, upon which are engraved the names of sons and daughters of Crawford who gave their lives in devotion to their country.

A second $50,000 grant has been put to use on the construction of a pole barn garage, which will house town police and town vehicles.

“The completion of this memorial is a testament to the unyielding dedication of local veterans and community leaders, including Dan Dambrozio, the engine behind this project,” said Senator Skoufis.

“The pole barn garage will be an important resource for the Town of Crawford Police Department, and it’s an honor to deliver the grant funding to make both projects possible.”

“The Town of Crawford would like to thank Senator Skoufis and the New York taxpayers for these important projects,” said Carnes. “These projects support both the Veterans of the Town as well as the police and town equipment.”
