Skoufis’ CPV power plant investigation almost complete

The Senate Investigation Committee’s look into the development of the CPV fracked gas powerplant in Wawayanda should be ready for public consumption shortly, Senator James Skoufis (D, Cornwall) says.

The report, which has been a year in the making, will examine how the project was approved, the senator said.

“Taking a look back at just what unfolded and what the state ought to do moving forward to try and make sure that this approval process is safeguarded, particularly from undue influence,” he said.

The plant was built despite allegations of influence peddling by the administration of then-Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The plant has been operating since it was first turned on with a temporary air quality permit.
