Elected officials cheer: 8 Staten Island providers to receive $12M from opioid lawsuit

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Elected officials gathered with executives from local organizations which treat opioid addiction Tuesday afternoon to announce the allocation of funds secured through a series of lawsuits against opioid manufacturers and distributors.

Standing before Assemblyman Sam Pirozzolo’s (R-Mid-Island) office in Meiers Corners, colleagues gathered together to celebrate the work of those responsible for securing Staten Island’s share of the funds secured by Attorney General Letitia James for New York.

Flanking Pirozzolo at Tuesday’s announcement were officials, including state Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/South Brooklyn) and Borough President Vito Fossella.
