Scarcella-Spanton allocates $80K for NYPD cameras on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New cameras will be installed on the North Shore in the hopes of bolstering ongoing efforts to reduce crime on Staten Island.

The unspecified amount of NYPD Argus cameras will result from an $80,000 allocation by State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/South Brooklyn) to the 120th Precinct in St. George.

“The installation of these cameras not only strengthens our current prevention efforts, but also fosters a greater sense of security and accountability in our community,” Scarcella-Spanton said.
