Staten Islanders rally around Holtermann’s, demand apology from Whoopi Goldberg

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — On Friday, the Holtermann family lined up outside of their 146-year-old eponymous bakery alongside most of Staten Island’s elected officials, both to clear the air, and to send a message best summed up by Borough President Vito Fossella: Don’t mess with Staten Island.
State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton took to the mic to add, “All of our [elected officials] agree, Holtermann’s has been around our entire lives. Staten Island comes together like no other borough.”
