STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Z100′s Elvis Duran told his listeners on his national morning radio show, which can be heard in over 80 cities across the U.S., to go to Staten Island’s very first inclusive St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17.

“There is something going on, and this has made national news, and it does almost every year right around St. Paddy’s Day on Staten Island,” said Duran to his listeners on Thursday morning.

Mayor Eric Adams said he plans to take part in the parade. In addition, Councilman David Carr (R-Mid-Island), who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community; Assemblyman Charles Fall (D-North Shore/Brooklyn/Lower Manhattan); Councilwoman Kamillah Hanks (D-North Shore), and State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (D-North Shore/South Brooklyn), the latter of whom joined members of the LGBTQ+ community in a protest last year against the traditional parade’s exclusionary practices, all have said they plan to march.
