Bronx. An undertaking of this nature should be done with care and consideration of the current residents of the neighborhood.” stated Assemblywoman Rivera.
Morris Park is in desperate need of additional middle class housing to accommodate the need of families and residents already residing in the community. The proposed plan prevents many of the area’s current residents, young families and seniors from qualifying. Instead, the plans by Arker Company would increase street congestion and add to the tremendous strain on the already overcrowded community schools, local police and sanitation departments.
In addition, there is already a severe lack of parking in or near the development. There is no plan or provision that would address the considerable parking needs of new residents.
