
Sayville Resident Earns Conspicuous Service Star, Medal For Merit

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently presented two New York State Military Awards -- the Conspicuous Service Star and Medal for Merit -- to Corporal Matthew Paul Bishop of Sayville. Corporal Bishop is a U.S. Marine who was discharged from the USMC in August after serving four years in Iraq. In addition to presenting Bishop with the medals, Senator Johnson also presented him with a New York State Senate Certificate of Appreciation.
