William J. Larkin Jr.

March 16, 2006

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) is proud to announce that Baldwin Vineyards of Pine Bush, New York has been awarded a Gold Medal at the prestigious California Wine Competition.

"It is extremely important to recognize those enterprises right in our own back yards that are making significant contributions to the economy," said Senator Larkin. "Baldwin Vineyards has distinguished itself as one of the premier wine makers in the country. This well deserved national attention is a testament to the excellence of yet another small business in the Hudson Valley."

Baldwin Vineyards entered three of their most widely renowned dessert wines into the prestigious California Wine Competition: a red raspberry, a black raspberry, and their now internationally famous strawberry wine.

The 50 judges at the wine competition awarded silver medals to Baldwin Vineyards' two raspberry wines, and its strawberry wine took home the Gold Medal/Best of Category Award.

This Gold Medal Award-winning strawberry wine has now been acclaimed to be the Best Fruit Wine in the United States.

Baldwin Vineyards was recognized recently by the New York State State Senate when Senator Larkin presented the Baldwins with an official Senate resolution.
