Senator Johnson Speaks At Bay Shore Summit

State Senator Owen H. Johnson (4th Senate District, Babylon), Chairman of the Finance Committee, recently addressed the community at the annual Bay Shore/Brightwaters Community Summit. Senator Johnson spoke to the community about the additional money he was able to secure for Bay Shore Schools this year’s budget. The budget provided Bay Shore with more than $36 million in total aid -- an increase of more than $1.8 million over last year and $1.4 million than was proposed by Governor Spitzer.
In addition to his support of Bay Schools in the 2006 state budget, Senator Johnson secured an $25,000 in bullet said for the school district in 2006, as well as $100,000 for the Library's expansion, $1.6 million for the Bay Shore Train Station pedestrian overpass/underpass closure project and $1.5 million for the Bay Shore Marina Renovation Project.
