The Senate Committee on Racing, Gaming, and Wagering will hold a meeting on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Hearing Room A of the Legislative Office Building in Albany, New York to review the Governor’s anticipated recommendation for the State Racing Franchise. Ultimately, the Legislature must select the next racing franchise to manage the race tracks at Aqueduct, Belmont Park, and Saratoga by December 31, 2007.

"It is important that the bidder or consortium of bidders that is selected to operate the State Racing Franchise has the most far sighted business plan that can successfully operate the race tracks at Aqueduct, Belmont Park, and Saratoga for the benefit of the State of New York’s taxpayers, the thoroughbred racing industry and for our dedicated racing fans in New York and throughout the world," stated Senator William J. Larkin, Jr., Chairman of the Senate Committee on Racing, Gaming, and Wagering. "Further, it is critical that the selected bidder should not have its integrity questioned."

Several widely recognized industry specialists have been invited to speak.
