SENATOR McDONALD MEETS WITH RECENTLY ELECTED SUPERVISORS FROM RENSSELAER AND SARATOGA COUNTIES

Troy- December 4, 2009- Senator Extends Congratulations on Election Day Victories, Pledges to Work Together with Local Officials in Challenging Economic Times.
Senator Roy McDonald welcomed each of the newly-elected supervisors from the 43rd Senate District to his district office in Troy on Friday, extending his congratulations on their Election Day victories. During the meeting, the group discussed a number of issues as Senator McDonald emphasized the importance of working together.
“As a former Town Supervisor, I have a great appreciation for anyone who is willing to dedicate their time and effort on behalf of the public’s best interest,” Senator McDonald said. “Today’s meeting was simply my way of saying congratulations and to let each supervisor know that I look forward to working with all of our local officials on behalf of our shared constituents.”
Joining Senator McDonald were Supervisor-elects Dennis Dowds (Schodack), Keith Cipperly (Hoosick), Josephine Ashworth (North Greenbush), Burton Rounds (Sand Lake), Dominic Jacangelo (Poestenkill) and Ed Kinowski (Stillwater).
Senator McDonald spoke in detail about the state’s current economic challenges and the potential impact on local governments’ budgets in the coming year. Concerns regarding future public pension costs as well as economic development initiatives and stabilizing local taxes were discussed during the meeting.
