New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz an Evangelical Pastor of the Christian Community Neighborhood Church in The Bronx, strongly condemns the killing of Dr. George Tiller of Wichita, Kansas.
Senator Reverend Diaz stated, “As the President of the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization and an Evangelical Minister, I have always opposed and will oppose the killing of unborn babies, especially the grisly procedure of “partial-birth abortion,” done throughout the ninth month of pregnancy.
While we abhor the violence Dr. Tiller brought upon the unborn, we also abhor the killing of any abortion practitioner or their personnel. I have been and continue to be an opponent of capital punishment for criminal behavior. All human life is sacred and should be respected in all stages. Who lives and who dies is solely in the hands of God.
We in the Christian Evangelical movement oppose all killing and condemn the actions of anyone who takes someone else’s life. We expect the maximum weight of the law for the killer of Dr. George Tiller.
We all know that the vigilante who killed Dr. Tiller does not represent the millions of peaceful and prayerful pro-lifers. We pray for the soul of Dr. Tiller and his family and pray for an end to violence in all forms.”
Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz is an Advisory Board Member of Democrats for Life of New York.
