Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) announced today that language authorizing the offices of Town Clerk, Receiver of Taxes and Highway Superintendents to be changed to appointed positions through a permissive referendum has been taken out of the state’s budget.

“I am pleased that this language has been removed from the budget,” said Senator Larkin, “My municipalities were overwhelmingly opposed to this action and I am relieved that it is no longer under consideration.”
