Senator Fuschillo to Sponsor H1n1 Flu Vaccination Program

New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) will be sponsoring a free H1N1 flu vaccination program in conjunction with the Nassau Health Care Corporation.
The program will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Freeport Recreation Center, located at 130 East Merrick Road in Freeport. Trained professionals from the Nassau Health Care Corporation will be administering the vaccine.
According to the Nassau Health Care Corporation, the program is open to anyone over the age of 6 months. The vaccine, which will be administered by either a shot or through nasal spray, is available at no cost. No appointments are required.
According to the New York State Department of Health, people assumed to be at high risk for H1N1 flu complications include pregnant women, children under the age of 5, seniors over the age of 65, and individuals with heart or lung conditions (especially asthma), chronic kidney or liver disease, blood disorders, neurological disorders, and metabolic disorders (such as diabetes).
