Senator Charles J, Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is inviting all local seniors to learn how to protect themselves from identity theft. Identity theft is one of the top consumer crimes in New York State and the fastest growing financial crime in the country.
The program will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 16th at the North Amityville Senior Center, which is located at 48C Cedar Road in North Amityville.
A representative from the New York State Consumer Protection Board will be on hand to teach seniors how they can protect themselves from identity theft, how to spot the warning signs that your identity is at risk, and what to do if their identity is stolen. In addition, seniors will also learn about how to protect themselves from different scams targeted towards senior citizens.
Seniors interested in attending Senator Fuschillo’s identity theft prevention program should call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
