Creating New Jobs At Aqueduct: Majority Hosts Public Prentation On Getting Proposal For Aqueduct Racino

The Senate Majority Conference will host the state Division of Lottery (DOL) today for a presentation viewable to the public regarding the proposal by Genting, an international firm recommended by DOL, to develop and operate Aqueduct racino.

Genting has pledged $380 million to the state for Aqueduct rights. The firm has also submitted a robust job creation plan – a priority of the Democratic Majority – including a focus on partnering with minority and women owned businesses.

This is the first time a proposal like this has been open for public viewing, and can be seen today at 1PM online at http://www.livestream.com/nysenate

Senator Eric Adams (D-Brooklyn), Chair of the Senate Committee on Racing, Gaming and Wagering said, “Development of the Aqueduct racino has been years in the making, and the time has come to move forward. This presentation provides the public an opportunity to learn, in depth, what Genting may bring to the table. At the end of the day, it is about supporting a plan with the financial wherewithal to deliver real fiscal benefits to the people of New York, and create the jobs we need to help our economy grow. I applaud the Division of Lottery for helping us organize this important public presentation and look forward to hearing about Genting and their proposal in greater detail.”
