Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently visited Kings Park High School to discuss the New York State Senate with students of the AP Government class.
Senator Flanagan spoke to the students, who are taking part in the class under the direction of teacher Jack Bishop, about his role in the legislative process, his efforts to protect the residents of the 2nd Senate District and other topics that provided the students with an overview of how New York State government operates. The students were then provided with an opportunity to ask Senator Flanagan questions about the state issues that are important to them.
"Bringing state government directly to the students is a great way for them to learn about New York State and I thank Mr. Bishop for providing me with this opportunity. The younger people of our community will be the ones who lead us all into the future and it was my privilege to provide them with information about our state. I hope they enjoyed our discussion and found the information interesting,” stated Senator Flanagan.
