In addition, information was available on smoking cessation, nutrition, bed bugs, cancer,
food stamps. Community health professionals were also on hand to answer general questions and provide information on applying for Medicare, Medicaid, EPIC, Child Health Plus, and Family Health Plus.
“This event benefited families and people of all ages by providing them with the vital
healthcare services and information they need,” said Senator Addabbo. “It is necessary
that individuals have access to quality, affordable and essential healthcare services.
Too often, lack of access to routine services and information can lead individuals to
neglect their health. I hope this event highlighted the numerous resources in the
community to help individuals and families provide for their well-being."
