Dear Friend:
Many residents were not expecting the hurricane force winds this weekend and were even more surprised by the number of downed trees, wires and other damage in their communities.
You can be alerted for storms like these and other emergency information by signing onto NY-Alert, a free service managed by the NYS Emergency Management Office. NY-Alert will contact you through e-mail alerts, cell phones texts, and/or other ways of your choice about:
· Severe Weather
· AMBER & Missing Child Alerts
· DCJS Sex Offender Re-location Alerts
· Public Health Alerts
· Consumer Protection Issues
· NYS DOT emergency road closings
· Press Releases, Publications and Training Announcements
I have attached two links for your review - one which provides information about NY-Alert, and the other that allows you to sign up.
