Senator Golden Announces Special Christmas Village Event

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) is proud to announce plans to host a “Brooklyn’s 1st Christmas Village” on Saturday, December 11, 2010, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cannon Ball Park, located at 100th Street and 4th Avenue. The event is being organized in an effort to help local families in need this holiday season.

The event will feature a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman and friends, be entertained by carolers and see Brooklyn’s own Rockettes in a special Christmas Show. There will be candy canes, hot chocolate, and more, and a U.S. Postal Mailbox which will provide direct mail service to the North Pole for letters to Santa.

This event will also be the last stop as our community helps Santa “Stuff A Bus Full of Toys”. All toys which will go to support families and make the holidays special for many. Toys are being collected at numerous locations over the course of the next couple of weeks.

Senator Golden stated, “As we look forward to the most special time of the year, we are planning an event that will surely get our neighborhood into the holiday spirit, and will be a great way to help those less fortunate. There is much fun being planned and Cannon Ball Park will surely be turned into a Christmas Village that day for all to enjoy.”
