Thank you to all who made Beach Cleanup 2010 a wonderful success! This year over 400 volunteers collected 1600 pounds of debris from the Robert Moses State Park beaches.
The lessons we hope our young volunteers learn through their participation in Beach Cleanup is the vital importance of keeping our oceans and beaches clean and the value of volunteering for the greater good. We also help to provide collection data for the American Littoral Society and the State Department of Environmental Conservation so that those agencies can evaluate the effectiveness of existing laws and programs to prevent ocean pollution.
