Senator Steve Saland (R,I,C Poughkeepsie) today announced he has been named by the New York Farm Bureau to its “Circle of Friends”.
The “Circle of Friends” honor is awarded to New York State legislators who have voted in support of bills that address the challenges faced by family farms in New York. Since 1911 the Farm Bureau has worked to encourage efficient production, better marketing, fair legislation, and a safe food supply and work environment for New York’s farms. The “Circle of Friends” honor started in 1999 and Senator Saland has been honored as a member each year since its inception.
“New York’s farms are a mainstay of our state’s economy and it is vitally important they stay strong and economically healthy,” said Senator Saland. “My support for our farm community has been unwavering and I am most pleased to have been named as a member of the New York Farm Bureau’s ‘Circle of Friends’ for the 12th year in a row.”
