Senator Stachowski awards Gateway-Longview $200,000
to support its Niagara Day Care Center
State Senator William T. Stachowski (58th District, Buffalo)has secured grant funding in the amount of $200,000 to support Gateway-Longview’s Niagara Day Care Center. The center, located on the West Side of Buffalo, has been providing high-quality care for children ages six weeks to 12 years since 1975.
The Senator joined members of Gateway-Longview pre-school class along with Gateway President James Sampson on Wednesday, February 17th, for a check presentation celebration at Gateway-Longview’s Niagara Day Care Center, located at 605 Niagara Street in Buffalo. The day care will use the generous grant funding for building improvement projects which will benefit the hundreds of children and families that utilize the day care center and other vital programs based at the agency’s Corporate Headquarter.
“I want to acknowledge the contributions Gateway-Longview’s Day Care Center has made in our community over the last 35 years. I am proud to have been able to secure the funding need for their capital improvement projects,” said Senator Bill Stachowski. “This Day Care Center provides vital low-cost services to those in-need families in our community. It is my honor to have secured the capital improvement grant to keep the Gateway-Longview’s Day Care Center safe and secure for years to come.”
The Niagara Day Care Center is proudly accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The prestigious NAEYC accreditation ensures families in our community that children in the agency’s day care program are receiving the best care and early childhood education. This funding demonstrates the Senator’s commitment to bolstering strong support for children and families on the West Side of Buffalo.
