Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently teamed up with the American Red Cross to offer a free citizen CPR course. The course, which was held at the Freeport Recreation Center, taught residents what to do in a situation where someone needs CPR.

Certified CPR instructors taught participants how to perform life-saving, hands-only CPR techniques and demonstrated how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Residents were able to practice CPR chest compressions on a mannequin.

Residents who were unable to attend the free citizen CPR course offered by Senator Fuschillo and the Red Cross but would like to get more information about learning CPR can contact the American Red Cross at 516-747-3500.
