Senator Adams’ statement:
“Too many young people, with promise are killed by the hands of their peers. My heart aches for our latest victim of gun-violence Tyrek O'Hara-Morris, and for the O'Hara-Morris family. Our children must learn that gun-violence solves nothing and leaves a permanent void in the lives of the family, friends, and loved ones, who are left behind.
I appeal to those who know the identity of the killer to come forward and provide the information to NYPD. If you are afraid to go to the police, you may call my office at 718 284-4700 or visit my office located at 572 Flatbush Ave., bet. Beekman Pl. and Midwood St., and leave a message for me. I commit to personally respond to your outreach.
Senseless killings amongst our youth must stop! Let Tyrek's inane killing stand for something. Let this be a time for our community to come together and to work as one, in an effort to stop the slaying of innocent young victims. May the soul of Tyrek O'Hare-Morris rest in peace and may his killers get the punishment that they deserve.”
