Senator Jack M. Martins welcomed the Orthodox Union Yeshiva to Albany, where he invited them to watch the proceedings of the Senate in the ornate Senate gallery. After the session, Senator Martins had a sit down discussion about the legislative process and decision making as a member of the State Legislature. The discussion centered around making good decisions and standing up for things you believe in. "What we discussed simply came down to character, leadership, responsibility and listening. Sometimes you need to make tough decisions and do what is right for communities. Soemtimes the right thing isn't always most the popular thing. The students from the Yeshiva talked with me about the way leaders make decisions and how we work with others during times of crisis. It was a thoughtful and outstanding meeting. I was very honored to be one of their hosts at our State's Capitol," said Senator Martins.
