Hundreds of Exhibitors, Services and Educational Programs, Free to the Public, Expected to Draw Thousands of Monroe County Residents

Senator Jim Alesi, continuing his efforts to bring free health services to local residents, will host his 22nd Annual Family Health & Fitness Fair, at the Dome Arena at the Fair & Expo Center in Henrietta.  The Fair is open to the public Thursday, October 6th between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Parking and admission for the Family Health & Fitness Fair will be free of charge.

“Promoting community health for twenty years, I am proud again to host my Annual Family Health & Fitness Fair,” said Senator Jim Alesi.  “I thank all the health care professionals, vendors and sponsors for their continued support, and I am certain this year’s fair will be a tremendous success!”

Senator Alesi is bringing together a team of community partners to help answer questions and provide valuable, free services to help area residents preserve their health.  With over 200 national and local health-related exhibitors in attendance, the Family Health & Fitness Fair is one of the largest health care expositions in the northeast.  Growing every year, the Fair serves as a one-stop source for nearly 4,000 individuals seeking quality medical information and services.

This year’s Family Health & Fitness Fair will offer flu shots for the upcoming cold and flu season.  The shots will be provided by the University of Rochester Medical Center Flu Prevention Program.  Although most local insurance providers are accepted, visitors are reminded to bring their insurance cards.

Attendees of the Fair will find a wide variety of free services offered by area health providers.  In addition to flu shots, the Family Health & Fitness Fair will provide individuals with screenings and testings for high blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and hearing, and much, much more.  Those professionals and visitors that attend the Family Health & Fitness Fair will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of educational seminars, presented free-of-charge by local physicians and health care professionals.

Senator Alesi will also be accepting tattered American Flags at the Health Fair.  Residents are welcome to drop-off their worn American Flags for proper disposal at this event.  For more information about Senator Jim Alesi’s 22nd Annual Family Health & Fitness Fair, please contact Senator Alesi’s District Office in Fairport at (585) 223-1800.
