Senator Joe Addabbo, Assembly Member Mike Miller, City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley Bring NYC DEP, DOF and HPD Reps to Glendale to Help District Property Owners
Queens, NY, July 7, 2011 – NYS Senator Joe Addabbo co-sponsored a free Tax Lien Assistance Outreach Event, along with NYS Assembly Member Mike Miller and NYC Council Member Elizabeth Crowley, on Wednesday, July 6. Constituents whose tax liens were on the list to be sold and who have been struggling with tax lien issues came out to P.S. 91, 68-10 Central Avenue, Glendale. This free 3-hour community event had representatives from New York City Environmental Protection (DEP), New York City Finance (DOF) and New York City Department of Housing and Preservation (HPD) assisting residents with their overdue property taxes, water/sewer bills and tax lien debts.
“My office sent out invitations to this free session in Glendale to those of my constituents whose tax liens were in danger of being sold. Some 50 residents came to our outreach event in order to obtain help in avoiding the sale and worse, foreclosure due to nonpayment,” noted Senator Addabbo.
