Griffo gets Recognition For Library Advocacy

Senator Joseph A. Griffo (R-C-IP, Rome) today announced that New Yorkers For Better Libraries has given him an “A” for his efforts on behalf of libraries in the most recent legislative session.

“Libraries are vital community institutions that are a smart investment  of public dollars,” Griffo said. “Libraries serve the community as the time-honored center for accessing the printed word, but they are also finding a new niche for customers who want to use technology or avail themselves of community space. Families and children know that the wonderful materials  available at our public libraries make them a parent’s best friend. This is a fiscal environment where there is pressure on everyone to do more with less, but I firmly believe that a strong library is something that a community cannot do without. I appreciate this ranking, and I will continue to serve the people and communities of my district.”
