" I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all that participated in Operation Snow Patrol. Specifically, I would like to say a special thanks to District Leader Lew Simon and Chief Edward K.Valentine of the Rockaway Point Fire Department who traveled from Breezy Point to Arverne which lead to the clearing of the streets surrounding Peninsula Hospital. I also want to say a special thank you to my friend, mentor and the "Dean of Queens" Former Councilman Archie Spigner whose video footage lead to clearing of roads in St. Albans.
I would also like to thank Yvonne Reddick of Community Board 12, Brian Block and Lawrence McClean of Community Board 13, Jonathan Gaska of Community Board 14, Manny Caughman of Assemblyman William Scarborough’s office, Kevin Alexander,Valerie West, Rachel Forde, Jill Moore, Kenneth Lee, Malcolm Harewood, Cheryl Jeffrey-Blake, Laverene Jeffrey and Renee McWilliams of the Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation and all of the other community leaders and constituents who sent photos and updates throughout the wee hours of the morning...thank you. Operation Snow Patrol was a success because of all of you.
My office was in constant communication with the Department of Sanitation and overall we were pleased with the fact that they were better prepared for this storm then the previous one.
