Con Ed Updates

August 28, 2011

Con Edison continues to note that the can not send crews out yet as the

storm has not ended yet and there are many overhead outages - they must

wait for the wind to slow

-105,000 citywide without power

-11,750 in Brooklyn

Con Edison is cautiously optimistic as high tide has passed and bulk of the

rain has moved north -

-they will prioritize restorations based on which repairs will restore the

power to the most people

-there were no preemptive outages in Brooklyn - restorations could start

early afternoon but it could take several days

-there is an outage map on coned.com on the bottom left -"Storm Central"

and then you can click on Outage Information Map

-I reviewed the map for our district -looks like 306 customers in Dyker

Heights, 8 near Stillwell Avenue, 1 in Bay Ridge, 212 in the Ocean Parkway

area, 2133 by Avenue U near Marine Park (most of our area) and 1059 near

Knapp Street/Gerritsen Beach

Another call is at 2pm and will again update.
